A memorial service for Helen Danielson will be held Saturday September 21st at 2:00 PM at the "Gathering Place" at The Homestead, 1900 Ballington Boulevard NW, in Rochester. Mr. Bob Keith will officiate. Mrs. Danielson, 99, a resident of The Homestead, died Sunday September 15th at Seasons Hospice in Rochester.
Helen Ruth Hagen was born June 10, 1920 in Sechlerville, Wisconsin to immigrants from Norway, Olaf and Berdine (Sagen) Hagen. At the Pla-Mor Ballroom, in 1952, Helen met Lyle G. Danielson. The couple wed on July 23, 1955 in Rochester. They loved to dance and to see them on the floor was like watching poetry in motion. Their marriage was the picture of what true love is all about. She loved to bake and to share with friends and family. She loved to entertain, and she enjoyed crocheting.
Helen worked in the ENT department at Mayo Clinic, then became employed at the dental office of Dr. Robert Miner. She then worked at the Trachsel Dental Studio as a lab technician for 15 years. She was an active member (and charter member) of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Lyle Danielson of Rochester; a niece, Jackie Jaderborg, of Rochester, 5 Godchildren; and numerous other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Jeannette Robinson Mackie, and Bernice Greeno; a brother, Roger Hagen; and a nephew, Dennis Greeno.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Seasons Hospice for the loving care they provided. In lieu of flowers, and if so desired, memorials may be directed to Seasons Hospice or Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
