Hazel Welch Wedde Marks

Hazel Marie (Welch) Marks, age 85, passed away on the eve of January 25, 2017 at Evansville Manor. Hazel was born March 31, 1931 to Harold LeRoy Welch and Metta Mae (Armstrong) Welch near Mantorville, MN. She was the eldest of three girls, her sisters Viola (Welch) Zemple (deceased) and Mary (Welch) Jacobsen of Chetek, WI.
Hazel grew up in and around Goodhue County, MN. She is survived by five children, Linda (Ersland) Pudoehl of Lewiston, MN, LaVae (Ersland) Flemke of Evansville,WI, James Wedde of Red Wing, MN, LuAnn (Wedde) Shields of Wichita, KS, and Jon Wedde of Zumbrota, MN; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren.
With her second husband, A.L. Wedde, she owned and operated the Wedde Sewing Machine in Red Wing where she expressed her creativity and skills teaching sewing classes, providing monograming, and other needle crafts and services until her retirement in 1993. She loved to paint, sew, knit, crochet, quilt, tat, and garden. She will be remembered with great love by her family through the many memories and talents she shared and passed down to her children and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, A.L. Wedde, husband Glen Marks, her parents and her sister, Viola.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Mahn Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment Burnside Cemetery. Memorials to Evansville Manor, 470 Garfield Ave, Evansville, WI 53538 or Mercyhealth Hospice Care, 901 Mineral Point Ave, Janesville, WI 5354 have been suggested.
