Hazel Marie Larson died on October 16, 2019 after enjoying the privilege of celebrating her 100th birthday with so many family and friends in July of this year. She was born July 1, 1919 in Neirke Hill, Wisconsin to Harold and Laura (Bjurquist) Erickson and attended The Number 16 School near Lund.
Hazel was loved and admired by so many that knew her. She loved to entertain, bake and share her fantastic food with others. She was a member of First Covenant Church in Red Wing where she was a chair person for more than 25 years of her morning bible study group. Later in life she attended faithfully back to her roots at Lund Mission Covenant Church in Wisconsin. She married Melford Larson and they were together for 62 years until his death in 2003. Together they had 3 daughters, Loretta (Harold) Henson of River Falls, WI, Irma (Larry) Degener of Hager City, WI and Lucinda McGowan of Red Wing, MN; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melford; brother, Glen Erickson and sisters, Gladys Anderson and Pearle Garzee.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 21, 2019, at Lund Mission Covenant Church in Lund, WI with Pastors Darren Catron and Marc Eix officiating. Burial will be at Lund Mission Covenant Church Cemetery. Visitation will be hour prior to the service at church. Memorials are preferred to First Covenant Church, Red Wing or Lund Mission Covenant Church. Arrangements handled by Mahn Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
