Mary "Hazel" Bartlett, 81, of Red Wing, died Thursday, July 31, 2008 at her home. She was born August 18, 1926 in Barron, Wisconsin to Joseph and Sadie (Kavanaugh) Castonia. She graduated from high school in Barron and married Gale Bartlett on November 26, 1947, and they lived in Rice Lake. In 1977, they moved to Red Wing. She worked at the Seminary Home until retiring in 1990. After that, she continued to do volunteer work there, and helped with administering communion to shut-ins. Gale died June 30, 2001. She was a member of the Church of St. Joseph.
She is survived by four children, Gayle (David) Hallstrom of Hudson, Wisc., Michael (Nancy) Bartlett of Westfield, Wisc., Katie (Arden) Campbell of Black River Falls, Wisc. and Steve (Diane) Bartlett of Bay City, Wisc.; 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and 3 brothers.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at the Church of St. Joseph with Father Thomas M. Kommers presiding. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be for 2 hours prior to the service at the church. Memorials preferred to the Catholic Charities. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
