Harvey W. Mann
Harvey Willis Mann, age 87, of Red Wing, died Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the Fairview Seminary Home. He was born August 25, 1923 on the family farm in Trenton Township to Benjamin and Marie (Joost) Mann. He attended Wilson School for several years and then later farmed the family farm in Trenton Township with his brother, Leslie until 1980. After farming he began working as a janitor for the Goodhue County National Bank building for six years, and then he began working for Loren Siefert in home construction for a few years until retiring in 1997. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Wing and he enjoyed woodworking in his shop, gardening and playing cards at Bay City Senior Center.
Survivors include one sister, Katherine Miller of Hager City; one niece, Arlene (Rick) Sutherland of Ellsworth; great nieces and nephews, Sheila (Tim) Kirk of Elk River, Bruce (Kim) Mann; of Hager City, Sharon MacLean of Richfield, Stephanie (Matt) Prose of Pine Island, Michael (Emily) Sutherland of Chippewa Falls, Wis. and numerous great, great nieces and nephews; special relative, Vicky (Ron) Kimmen of Red Wing. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Edward and Leslie; one nephew, Howard Mann and special companion, Mary Reinke.
Funeral will be on 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran in Red Wing with Reverend Todd Engel officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one half hour prior to the service at the church on Monday..
