Harvey W.P. Hadler, 79, of Goodhue, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at St. Mary?s Hospital in Rochester. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, January 12, 2007 at 2 PM at St. John?s Lutheran Church-Minneola, Minneola Township with Reverend Randall Kuznicki officiating. Inurnment will be in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Thursday, January 11, 2007 at Mahn Family Funeral Home-Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Harvey Wilhelm Peter Hadler was born on March 4, 1927 in Belle Creek Township, Goodhue County to Herbert and Mathilda (nee Banitt) Hadler. He grew up on the family farm and attended country schools. Harvey graduated from Goodhue High School in 1945. He began farming with his parents. On September 3, 1948 he married Arlene E. Dicke at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hay Creek. The couple made their home on the family farm. They farmed in Belle Creek Township for forty years. Harvey began working as an office manager and secretary at Wanamingo Mutual Insurance and retired in 2004. He was a member of St. John?s Lutheran Church-Minneola, Creamery Board, Wanamingo Lions Club and Farm Bureau. Harvey had numerous hobbies, and especially enjoyed fishing and golfing. Harvey is survived by his wife Arlene; eight children, David (Sandra) Hadler of Zumbrota, Alan (Wanda) Hadler of Zumbrota, Dale (Kathy) Hadler of Goodhue, Carol (Wally) Franta and Kathy (Robert) Traynor, both of Spring Valley, WI, James (Sally) Hadler of Goodhue, Penny (Ken) Nelson of Livingston, MT and Chris (Dawn) Hadler of Prescott, WI; 25 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Stromme of Red Wing. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials are suggested to the donor?s choice.
