Harry "Babe" Tiedeman, age 82 of Lake City, died on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Lake City Care Center surrounded by his loving family. Harry was born on April 4, 1929 to William and Amanda (Hoops) Tiedeman in Gillford Township. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1947. He worked on his family farm during school and continued on afterwards. He also hauled milk and drove gravel truck while farming. Harry married the love of his life, Alvina Kohn on September 5, 1959 in West Albany. He farmed until retiring in 1993, when he sold it to his son, Dan. Harry was a member of St Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church. He enjoyed watching baseball, football and boxing. He loved farming, his Oliver tractors and playing baseball, and most of all spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Harry is survived by his wife, Alvina Tiedeman of Lake City; two sons, Danny (Sheila) Tiedeman and Terry (Laurie) Tiedeman both of Lake City; one grandson, Tyler Tiedeman; three granddaughters, Toni, Alysha and Merryssa Tiedeman; two sisters, Julia Steffenhagen and Janice Rabe; and one brother, Ray Tiedeman all of Lake City.
Harry is preceded in death by his parents, William and Amanda Tiedeman; and one brother, Raleigh Tiedeman.
Memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10:30AM on Wednesday, April 4 at St Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church with Father Dernek officiating. Burial will follow the service at St Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00PM on Tuesday, April 3 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City and one hour prior at the church.
