Harry John Jacobson, 76, of Red Wing, died Thursday, May 21, 2009 at his home in Red Wing. He was born April 30, 1933 to Harold and Elsie (Forsberg) Jacobson. He married Margaret Mathews on July 18, 1953. He worked at Red Wing Shoe Company for 45 years and Joe's Mobil for 34 years. Margaret died on July 24, 2003. He was a 56 year member of First Presbyterian Church, a member of the Red Wing Elks BPOE #845, a charter member of the Red Wing Credit Union, and he helped organize the Indian Head Motorcycle Club in 1954. He enjoyed bowling, belonging to four different leagues and motorcycle riding.
He is survived by one son, Steve Jacobson of Minneapolis; one daughter, Linda (Tim) Schultz of Richmond, Indiana; four grandchildren, Austin Schultz, Jonathan Schultz, Courtney Jacobson and Cynthia Jacobson; one brother, Richard (Kathy) Jacobson of Red Wing; four sisters, Helen Jacobson of Ellsworth, Elaine (Ronald) Edlund of Eureka Center, Wis., Adeline (Bernard) Schroeder of Hastings and Carolyn (Leon) Meixner of Ellsworth along with nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife; his parents; one brother, Herbert Jacobson, and one sister, Dorothy Rehder.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Gary Elg officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
