Harry O. Hadler

March 5, 1917 — June 29, 2012

Harry O. Hadler age 95 of Zumbrota died on Friday, June 29, 2012 at the Zumbrota Health Services. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church - Minneola with Reverend Randall Kuznicki officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, July 2, 2012 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and on Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Harry Otto Hadler was born on March 5, 1917 in Zumbrota to Simon and Christina (nee Hinrichs) Hadler. He grew up on the family farm and attended country school. On February 14, 1941 he entered the U. S. Army. Harry married Dorothy N. Gustafson on June 9, 1943 at Camp Benning, FL. He served in the European Theatre of Operations during WW II and was honorably discharged on November 10, 1945. They returned to the Zumbrota area and Harry farmed. Harry also worked as a field representative for ASCS which became FSA for 40 years. Harry quit milking cows in 1982. Harry was a charter member of Stary-Yerka VFW Post #5727 in Zumbrota, where he served as commander in 1958-1959 and held a continuous membership for 65 years. He was also council president at St. John's Lutheran Church - Minneola, served as Minneola Township Assessor for 13 years, Minneola Township Clerk for 32 years and was a member of the Covered Bridge Society and 65-50 Club in Zumbrota. Harry loved to play cards and enjoyed bowling.
Harry is survived by his wife, Dorothy, son, Robert (Patricia) Hadler of Dodge Center, grandsons, Todd (Karla) Hadler of Manitowac, WI, Craig Hadler of Cottage Grove and Kurt (Clarissa) Hadler of Zumbrota; great-grandchildren, Kasey, Tanner, Brady, Ashlyn, Nathan and Joseph.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Gerhard, Albert, Martin, Edwin, Christian and an infant brother and three sisters, Regina Lohmann, Martha Brunckhorst and Hildegard Born.
