Harold Williamson

Harold Elmer Williamson, 81, of Red Wing, died Saturday, June 26, at his residence at Potter Ridge. He was born on January 4, 1929, in Hastings, Minnesota to Robert and Helen (Hagedorn) Williamson. He attended school in Hastings and then served in the US Army from January 22, 1951 to January 21, 1953, during the Korean Conflict. On July 20, 1952 he married Donna Baringer in Red Wing. He farmed in the Welch and Red Wing area for many years. After retirement he and Donna traveled in their motor home from 1994-2004 visiting all 50 states. Donna died on October 12, 2004. For the past four years Harold has resided at Potter Ridge. He was a member of the Leo C. Peterson American Legion Post #54 and besides traveling; he enjoyed playing cards and fishing.

Survivors include six children, Linda (Bob) Pierce of West Jordan, Utah, Terry (Joe) Kocur of Welch, Rita (Mark) Yotter of Lake City, Richard Williamson of Red Wing, Randy (Diana) Williamson of Red Wing and Cynthia (Nolan) Biorn of Zumbrota; 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; one brother, Paul Williamson of Palm Springs, California; one sister, Ethel Reuter of Hastings and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one brother, Donald and two sisters, Edna Schneider and Florence Raway.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Rev. Eugene Hasselquist officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeremiah Pierce, Michael Williamson, Brian Yotter, Shaun Guenzler and Corey Guenzler. Honorary pallbearers will be Jennifer Voth, Angela Voth, Michelle Yotter and Courtney Williamson. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to Fairview Red Wing Hospice.
