Harold "Harry" Orloske

July 16, 1944 — December 30, 2013

Harold R. "Harry" Orloske, 69, Welch, died Monday, December 30, 2013, at Mayo Health Systems, Red Wing. He was born July 16, 1944 in St. Paul, MN, the son of Robert and Geneva (Robey) Orloske. He attended schools in Hastings and graduated from Harding High School in St. Paul in 1962. He attended the University of Minnesota for two years and then St. Paul Vo-Tech College, receiving a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served in the Army National Guard 1966-1972. He married Barbara Jean Danielson on August 23, 1969 in St. Paul and for 44 years they lived in Welch. He worked at 3M for 26 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Church of Saint Joseph and he was active in the Boy Scouts in Red Wing, serving as scout master. He aspired to become an anthropologist so he collected and restored Native American artifacts. He enjoyed history, fishing, camping and playing cards.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Jean of Welch; two children: Jolene (Kyle) Knutson of Red Wing and Jason Orloske of Fargo; three grandchildren: Keegan, Ronan and Liam; three brothers: Thomas (Sharon), Kenneth (Andrea) and Dennis (Julie) Orloske, all of Saint Paul and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mass of the Resurrection will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 6, 2014 at the Church of Saint Joseph with Father Thomas M. Kommers presiding. Burial will be in Burnside Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 - 6 p. m. Sunday, January 5, 2014 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and on Monday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
