Harley F. Siems, 87, of Oronoco, died Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at his home of natural causes. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Grace Lutheran Church in Oronoco with Reverend Paul Baldauf officiating. Burial will be in Oronoco Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, February 26, 2007 from 4:00 ? 7:00 P.M. at the Mahn Family Funeral Home-Mahler Chapel in Pine Island and on Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the church. Harley Frederick Siems was born on April 30, 1919 in Oronoco Township, Olmsted County, MN to Frederick and Clara (nee Lubahn) Siems. He grew up on the family farm and attended country school. In 1939 he graduated from Mazeppa High School. He farmed with his parents until he married Anna E. Neumann on September 15, 1951 at Peace Evangelical Church in Rochester. They made their home on the farm in Wabasha County, near Oronoco and continued farming until retiring in 1978 and moving into Oronoco. Harley was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Oronoco Lions Club, Farm Bureau and NFO. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, camping, playing cards, watching the sunsets on Lake Shady and being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Harley is survived by his wife, Anna, two sons, Dennis (Debra) Siems of Faribault, and Douglas Siems of Austin, TX, two daughters, Pamela (Bruce) Reistad of Austin, MN and Patricia (George) Bernhard of Glenside, PA, seven grandchildren, Ben (Christy) Siems, Broc (Abby) Siems, Brad Siems, Jason and Kim Reistad and Bill and George Bernhard, two great grandchildren, Matthew and Claire Siems, three sisters, Olive Campbell of Oronoco, Joyce (Ken) Kappauf of Rochester and Margaret (Bob) Christopherson of Rochester. Harley was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Vern Siems and one sister, Etta Mae Siems. The family suggests memorials to Grace Lutheran Church. Casketbearers are his grandchildren, Ben, Broc, & Brad Siems, Jason & Kim Reistad and Bill & George Bernhard. Honorary bearers are his great grandchildren, Matthew and Claire Siems.
