Harlan L. LeCuyer, age 87 of Rochester, passed away at his home on Monday, March 30, 2015 after a prolonged illness.
Harlan was born in Minneapolis on September 14, 1927 to Medrick and Mary (Welch) LeCuyer. At the age of 18, he joined the Army Air Corp and had a long career with the government, retiring as District Manager of the Social Security Administration in Rochester. Harlan and Gladys Carol Benson were married on January 14, 1949 in Columbia Heights, MN. Gladys passed away on March 19, 2011. Harlan enjoyed traveling across the country with his family for many years; square dancing, round dancing and international traveling with his wife; in later years, keeping in touch with friends and family on his computer sending a never-ending supply of humorous jokes, anecdotes and stories.
Harlan is survived by his daughter; Deborah (Don) Larson of Rochester, four sons; Gregg (Debra) LeCuyer of Woodbury, Trent (Marilyn) LeCuyer of Raleigh, North Carolina, Scott (Linda) LeCuyer, also of Raleigh and Brian (Kathy) LeCuyer of Columbus, Nebraska, 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and one brother; Floyd LeCuyer of Roseville.
Harlan was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, one brother and his wife, Gladys.
Harlan's family is having a private memorial and burial will take place in Fort Snelling National Cemetery. If so desired, memorials may be directed in Harlan's name to Seasons Hospice.
