Gwen Ann (Zemke) Dicke

Gwen Ann Dicke, 90, of Red Wing, died Friday, February 4, 2022, at The Emeralds of Faribault.  She was born on May 13, 1931, in Red Wing to Edward and LuVerne (Hinck) Zemke.  She attended country school and on March 5, 1949, she was married to Andrew Pomeroy to this union Marla and Lisa were adopted.  They later divorced.  On February 14, 1967, she married Wilbert Dicke and to this union were born Laurel, Aimee and Angela.  For many years she was a homemaker, did daycare and worked in the dietary department at St. John’s Hospital.  She enjoyed flower gardening, reading, helping others out and being with her family and friends.

Gwen is survived by her children, Marla (Howard) Solender of St. Louis Park, Lisa (Kip) Massett of Zumbrota, Laurel (Doug) Lantis of Red Wing, Aimee (Ben) Hill of Waseca, Angela Dicke of Red Wing; seven grandchildren, Casey Massett, Carrie (Joe) Wobig, Paige Lantis, Tyler Paulson, Logan Lantis, Amalia Paulson and Jordyn Lantis; five great grandchildren; one sister, Sharon (Richard) Norquist of Prescott; three sisters-in-law, Verna Schrader of Red Wing, Angie Dicke of Lake City, Doris Swanson of Maple Grove and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Andrew and Wilbert; two sisters, Gloria (Vince) Grote, Audrey (Phil) Hilden; brothers and sisters-in law, Viola (Carl) Rohe, Donald (Ruth) Dicke, Fran (Vernon) Fitschen, Harry Schrader, Earl (Betty) Dicke, Kermit Dicke, Howard Swanson and Mary Kay Grote.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, February 10, 2022, at United Lutheran Church in Red Wing with Reverend Justin Boeding officiating. Burial will be at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hay Creek.  Visitation will be for two hours prior to the service at the church. The family requests that all attendees wear a mask.    Funeral arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
