Guy Robert Wennblom, 47, Diamond Bluff, died Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Saint Marys Hospital, Rochester. He was born January 4, 1963 in Graceville, MN, the son of Robert and Lori Wennblom. He was a 1981 graduate of River Falls High School and he attended the University of Wisconsin, River Falls and Dunwoody Institute. He married Jane Thygesen on October 24, 1992 in Red Wing. He was employed by Data Card in Minneapolis, RAM Center in Red Wing and for the past ten years at Bi-Phase, a division of Schwan's. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Big River, the Sons of the American Legion and Boy Scout Troop #133 in Prescott. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, snowmobling and collecting and working on old cars. His family remembers him as being a very generous man with his time as a volunteer in the community and as a very devoted family man.
Survivors include his wife, Jane; two children, Katelyn and Kyle Wennblom, both at home; his parents; one sister, Linda (Charlie) Chandler of Diamond Bluff; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Manfred & Ida Wennblom, Walter & Angeline Hein-Campbell and William Campbell; aunts and uncle: Tip Lanie and Marie and Roy Nelson.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Big River with Father William Matzek officiating. Pallbearers will be Tom Datwyler, Doug Johnson, Nate, Nick and Dave Dodge and Matt Wendorf. Burial will be in Diamond Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
