Grace Marie Josephson, 96, of Red Wing, died July 13, 2015 at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park. She was born on September 12, 1918 in Ellsworth, WI to Carl and Hema (Bergund) Lubnow. Grace was the youngest of five Lubnow children. She spent her earlier years in Ellsworth, WI and worked at the Ames Café in Ellsworth, WI. Grace was given the bible verse "Seek first God's kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well," Matthew 6:33, on her confirmation at St. Paul's E&R Church and she remembered and recited it all of her years. On October 6, 1946 she married Richard E. Josephson at St. Paul's E & R Church in Ellsworth. They made their home on a dairy farm on Jackson (Josephson) Bluff, Bay City, WI. She worked along side Richard on the dairy farm helping with the barn chores, tending the chickens and raising a large garden. Hard work and long days were the norm for she and Richard. She was a wonderful cook and baker. Some of the very special foods she made were lefse, rice pudding, apple pie, bread, rolls, cookies and mints. All of her homemade goodies were enjoyed by family and friends. Nobody left their home with an empty stomach! In 1970, after 25 years, they sold the farm and moved to Red Wing, MN. During this time she enjoyed travel around the USA and Mexico, doing various crafts, playing cards, bingo, and she continued to make all of her very special foods.
She is survived by her children, Carol (Jerry) Krie of McGregor, Bonnie (Ronald) Peterson of Welch, and Marilyn Josephson of Shakopee; nine grandchildren, Denee and Joshua, Jonathan, Daniel and Jennifer, Angela, Rachel, Trevor and Laura; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two nieces; and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Richard, on December 10, 2001; infant daughter, Joanne; brother, Don; and sisters, Emma, Edith, and Evelyn.
