Glenn Steffenhagen

Glenn Henry Steffenhagen, age 82 of Ellsworth, Wisconsin died on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at the Ellsworth Care Center.

Glenn was born on June 16, 1926 in Red Wing, Minnesota to Charles and Marie (Hauschildt) Steffenhagen. He attended school district 161 in Flower Valley. He began farming on Hill Avenue with his brother Richard in 1948. He later farmed in Hay Creek Township and near Pepin, Wisconsin. Glenn also worked at IBM in Rochester. He married Myrna Johnson on March 9, 1962. They later divorced. He was a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Frontenac, Minnesota. Glenn enjoyed horses, cars, hunting, fishing, anything Western, and especially spending time with his nieces and nephews.

Glenn is survived by his brothers; Richard of Red Wing, and Kermith (Judith) of Stillwater; sisters Berdella (Robert) Cooper of Roseville, Lois Steffenhagen of Wausau, Wisconsin, and Judith (James) Moore of Lompoc, California; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family wishes to express their thanks to the caring staff at the Ellsworth Care Center and to special friends Annette Bystrom and her family.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dale.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Frontenac, Minnesota with Reverend Christopher Hoppe officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Red Wing. Pallbearers will be Christopher Steffenhagen, Douglas Cooper, Kevin Cooper, Jared Cooper, Daniel Waletzko, and Austin Erickson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Timothy Steffenhagen, James Moore, Sean Moore, Ryan Moore, Sandra Waletzko, and Michelle Taub.
