Glenn Elden Johnson, 90, of Red Wing, died Monday, August 10, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 21, 1930, in rural Maiden Rock, Wisconsin to Elmer and Christine (Mork) Johnson. He attended rural schools near Maiden Rock and worked for Jorgensen Auto Laundry. For a number of years he worked for the Red Wing Creamery and on May 5, 1951, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Hultquist. After returning from a two week honeymoon, he was drafted in the US Army during the Korean Conflict for two years. Following his discharge he worked for Red Wing Rockwool, and then for over forty years as a machinist at Gould in Lake City. Marilyn died on June 26, 2006. He was a member of United Lutheran Church and the Minnesota Decoy Collectors Society. He enjoyed collecting decoys and spending time at "The 80" near Frontenac.
Glenn is survived by his two children, Randall (Joyce) Johnson of Reedsburg, Wisconsin and Pamela (Kevin) Seyffer of Red Wing; six grandchildren, Nicole (James) Bonkoski, Meridee (Brad) Sand, Alison Haas, Tony (Whitney) Seyffer, Alex (Michelle Johnson) Seyffer and Courtney (Mike) Seitz; seven great grandchildren with one more due in October; daughter-in-law, Annette Johnson of Red Wing; special friend, Julie Dempsey of Red Wing; many nieces and nephews along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son Bradley; two brothers, William and Orville and three sisters, Evelyn Johnson, Gladys Wood and Delores Saupe.
