Glen Arvin Friese, Sr., 78, Diamond Bluff, Wisconsin, died Friday, October 27, 2006, at his home. He was born September 28, 1928, in Zumbrota, Minnesota, to Fredrick and Anna (Fredrickson) Friese and attended schools in Zumbrota. He moved to St. Paul where he worked for American Hoist and Derrick for several years. He married Marjorie Cowden on May 20, 1950, in Zumbrota. They lived in Hastings, and he worked for the Hastings State Hospital and Hudson Sprayers. In 1972, they moved to Diamond Bluff. He worked as a supervisor for 3M in Cottage Grove for 30 years prior to retiring in 1988. After retirement, he and his wife spent the winter in Bullhead City, Arizona. Marjorie died on December 3, 1998. He then worked as a watchman for S.B. Foot Tanning Company. He was a member at St. John?s Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening and playing keno with friends and family. Survivors include eight children, Glen (Kristine) Friese, Jr. of Inver Grove Heights, Jaci (Cory) Nyman of Eagan, Thomas (Elizabeth) Friese of Hastings, Kathleen (Robert) Cooklock of Hager City, Sharon (Norbert) DeLong of Inver Grove Heights, Jeffrey (Michele) Friese of Pine City, Mark Friese of Diamond Bluff, and Christina (Wade) Priest of Diamond Bluff; two sisters, Verniel Carlson of Inver Grove Heights and Marlis (Darrell) Dreier of Stillwater; 16 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; two brothers Renville and Luverne Friese; two sisters, Maleda Sylvander and Eunice Albers. Memorial Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. John?s Lutheran Church with Rev. Loren Lucht officiating. Burial will be in Diamond Bluff Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be Glen Friese, III, Jarid Friese, Breanna Friese, Thomas Friese, Jr., Nicholas Friese, Daniel Friese, Michael Thompson, Elissa Thompson, Andrew Thompson, Jennifer Cooklock, Bryan Cooklock, Alyssa Friese, Aaron Friese, Andrew Friese, Joshua Priest, and Matthew Priest. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
