Gladys Corrine Stiller

Gladys Corrine Stiller, age 97, of Red Wing, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park. She was born third of five children September 22, 1914 in Zumbrota to Valborg and Gust Benrud. She attended Zumbrota schools and graduated from Zumbrota High School in 1932. She went to beauty school in Minneapolis and was a long time beautician in Red Wing. In 1937 she married Harold Stiller and then moved to Red Wing where she became business partners with her two sisters, Grace Benson and Eva Mae Perrott. After 67 years of marriage Harold died on August 29, 2004. Gladys enjoyed traveling, golf, bowling, trips to Treasure Island and bridge. She also was a master at knitting and crocheting, which she continued to do until two weeks prior to her death. The hats and afghans she made were always a big hit.
She is survived by her twin sister Grace Benson Finley; two children, Lynn (Louise) Rossom of Minneapolis and Jim (Nancy) Stiller of Eden Prairie; grandchildren, Jay (Becky) Rossom, Tim (Amy) Rossom, Noel (Julie) Stiller, Derek (Laura) Stiller; two step-grandchildren, Tricia (Colin) Brackeen and Doug (Marian) Roberts; six great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, plus many friends and staff at Potter Ridge where she had resided for the last 5 years.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. followed by a Celebration of her life at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Brian Scott officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Red Wing Collectors Society Museum, Red Wing Women's Shelter, or donor's choice.
