Gladys Della Oberg, 86, of Hager City, died Thursday, October 18, 2007 at River Falls Hospital. She was born March 1, 1921 in Plum City, Wisconsin to Theodore and Della (Bishop) Bee. She graduated from Red Wing Central High School and married Earl Barnes. She worked several years at Red Wing Shoe Company and at Vieth's Bar for 18 years. Earl died February 18, 1955. She married Eldon Oberg on June 16, 1956. He died December 25, 1987. She was a member of the Bay City American Legion Auxiliary and she enjoyed playing cards. For the past 12 years, she had been a resident of the Ellsworth Care Center.
She is survived by three children, John (Walda) Barnes of Hager City, Mary (Dennis) Meier of Ellsworth, Howard Barnes of Hinckley, MN; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; special friends, Terry & Ginny Bishop of Ellsworth and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; parents; two sons, Jimmy and Collin Barnes; two sisters, Vergie Stratton and Bernice McCusker and two brothers, Marlin and Lewis Bee.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Christ Episcopal Church with Father Charles Uhlik officiating. Burial will be at Svea Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John, Travis, Terry and Howard Barnes and Dennis Meier. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
