Gertrude "Trudy" Regina Zorn, 70, of Red Wing, died Thursday, December 15, 2011 at her home surrounded by family. She was born on September 16, 1941 in Red Wing to Lester and Margaret (Cleve) Frazier. She graduated in 1959 from Red Wing Central High School and worked for a short time at Pirius Bakery. On April 30, 1960 she married Marvin Zorn at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Red Wing. She then began her career as a dental assistant and receptionist, working for Dr. Wilson and then for Dr. Evans for over 30 years. She also worked with Dr. Palmquist, and then for Dr. Vaillant until retiring. She was well known and loved by so many of the patients throughout the years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Goodhue where she was a member of the Catholic Church Women and she served as the Featherstone Township Clerk for many years. She loved spending time with her family, cleaning, taking care of her home and brightening the world of everyone around her.
Survivors include: her husband, Marvin Zorn; three sons: Robert (Lori) Zorn, Michael Zorn and John (Fatima) Zorn, all of Red Wing; four grandsons: Nicholas, Philip, Matthew and Johan, all of Red Wing; five siblings, Robert (Rosa) Frazier of Westerly, RI, Sheila Murphy of Diamond Bluff, WI, Walter Frazier, Maureen (Paul) Winberg and Frank (Gwen) Frazier, all of Red Wing and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister Margaret Mary Frazier and one brother, Larry Frazier.
Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Monday, December 19, 2011 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Goodhue with Father Bruce Peterson presiding. Burial will be in St. Columbkill's Catholic Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 - 7 p. m. Sunday, December 18, 2011 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to Fairview Red Wing Hospice, the local Pay It Forward or donor's choice.
