Gertrude Ann O'Donnell, 89, of Lake City, MN, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Lake City Care Center. She was born, February 27, 1922, to Martin and Maria (Pruckler) Kirschner.
She grew up in St Paul and graduated from Washington High School in 1942.
She moved to Washington, DC to work in the department of the Navy during WWII. She married Martin "Butch" O'Donnell on June 17th, 1944 and lived in St. Paul. She worked at a Green House in St. Paul and also as a seamstress at Kirshners Tailors and Dry Cleaning.
Martin passed away in 1990. She moved to Lake City in 1993. She was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church. She was also a member of Lake City American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by one daughter, Lynn (Ray) St. Martin of Lake City; one son, Jeffrey (Linda) O'Donnell of Fargo North Dakota; 7 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother, Martin Kirschner.
Graveside service will be 1PM Tuesday, July 5th 2011, at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel is handling the arrangements. Online condolences can be sent at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
