Geraldine Reichert

Geraldine Catherine Reichert, of Red Wing, died Monday, March 3, 2008 at the Fairview Red Wing Medical Center. She was born in Red Wing to Ralph and Mabel (Riley) Murphy and attended Red Wing schools. She married Wayne Hecker on August 30, 1941. She worked at Red Wing Shoe Company during World War II , then at Creola's Boutique, retiring in 1974. Wayne died February 6, 1960. She later married Fredrick "Fritz" Reichert on August 9, 1974. After her retirement, they enjoyed traveling together. He died November 6, 1984. She was a member of the Church of St. Joseph and she enjoyed playing cards, shopping, interior decorating, observing nature, feeding wildlife and she had a great sense of humor.

She is survived by two daughters, Juli (Joe) Schmidt of Lake City and Jodi (Hecker) Bridges of Red Wing; two grandsons, Tom and Sean Redmond; three nieces. She was preceded in death by her two husbands; two sisters, Lucille Gorny and DeLores Ehlen and one brother, Donald Murphy.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Church of St. Joseph with Father Thomas M. Kommers presiding. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel is handling arrangements.
