Geraldine Finch

Geraldine Marie Finch, 91, of Pine Island, formerly of Rochester died Saturday, October 7, 2006 at the Zumbrota Nursing Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at the Pine Island Assembly of God Church with Reverend Daniel Ashpole officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Viola Township. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Geraldine Marie Karsten was born on April 14, 1915 in Viola, Minnesota to John and Jennie (Stinson) Karsten. She attended school in Viola. Geraldine worked at restaurants in the Rochester area. Geraldine married Percy Klein, who died four years after their marriage. Geraldine married Merrel Finch on May 31, 1947. The couple moved to Pine Island where Merrel operated a bicycle repair shop out of their home. After Merrel?s death in 1976, Geraldine continued to live in Pine Island until 1996, when she moved to the Zumbrota Nursing Home. She was a member of the Pine Island Assembly of God Church. Geraldine is survived by her son, Albert James Klein of Rochester; daughter, Dorothy Toogood of Rochester; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merrel; two daughters, LaVonne Klein and Gladys Berndt; son, David Finch; three brothers, Leonard, Gordon and Lyle Karsten and two sisters, Bernice Hanson and Margaret Lyke.
