Gerald "Gerry" Stumpf

Gerald "Gerry" Lee Stumpf, 58, Red Wing, died at home Thursday, February 5, 2009. He was born November 18, 1950 in Red Wing, the son of Roy and Phyllis (Duden) Stumpf. He grew up in Hay Creek Township and graduated from Goodhue High School in 1967. He worked in the shipping department of Red Wing Shoe for 32 years. He married Wendy Swanson on August 26, 1972. He was very devoted to his church, the Community of Christ Church where he served as co-pastor. He enjoyed reading, watching the History Channel, walking his dog, Nicky and being with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Wendy of Red Wing; his parents, Roy and Phyllis Stumpf of Red Wing; one son, Troy Stumpf of Red Wing; four grandchildren; two brothers, Carl (Johnnie) of Red Wing and Glenn Stumpf of Bay City; two sisters, Carol (Frank) Peterson of Bay City and Linda (Todd) Kuyath of Red Wing; and his dog, Nicky. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Tara Carlson; his maternal grandparents, Elmer and Hulda Duden and his paternal grandparents, Ernst and Alma Stumpf.

Funeral will be 11 a. m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Pastor Dan Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Kohn, Greg Germann, Al Hegseth, Chris Peterson, Scott Skorude, Tom Marik, Tim Carroll, Bruce Alms, Roger Alms, Glenn Alms, Andy Klitzke and Jeff Klitzke. Visitation will be 4 � 8 p. m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009 and for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to Fairview Red Wing Area Hospice or Red Wing Mission.
