Gerald O. “Jerry” Erickson, 84, of Zumbrota, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 10, 2020, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Red Wing on March 6, 1936 to Orvin and Marcella (Yerka) Erickson. He graduated from Zumbrota High School in 1954. In 1953, he joined the Army National Guard and served for 28 years. He was united in marriage to Carol Timbeross on September 28, 1956 at Minneola Lutheran Church. He worked for Goodhue County Electric and Paulson Feed Mill. He owned and operated his own livestock and dry goods trucking company, Erickson Trucking for over 50 years. He enjoyed deer hunting, trout fishing, bowling, dancing, and camping. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his great-grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his kind heart and his willingness to help anyone.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carol; three children, Gregg (Deb) Erickson of Wanamingo, Mark (Missy) Erickson of Zumbrota, and Michelle (Jeff) Bremer of Lake City; eight grandchildren, Korey (Greg) Mort, Parker Erickson (Erin), Megan Erickson (Kenny), Kaleigh (Brian) Agrimson, Noah Erickson (Hannah), Travis (Becky) Bremer, Jordan Bremer (Brooke), and Easton Bremer; special grand-puppies, Ruby, Lucy, and Sparky; five great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Lukas, Marlee, Johnny, and Adeline; brother, Roger (Kathy) Erickson of Zumbrota; brother-in-law, Donald (Virginia) Timbeross; and sister-in-law, LaVonne Timbeross.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Karen (Lyle) Mehrkens; brothers-in-law, Rob (Evelyn) Timbeross and Jim Timbeross.
A private memorial service will be held at Lands Lutheran Church with Reverend David Krinke officiating. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2021, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Larson Chapel. Burial will be at Lands Lutheran Church Cemetery. Masks and social distancing are required. The memorial service will be streamed live at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 8, 2021, via Lands Lutheran Church’s Facebook page.
