Gerald J. Becker
Gerald J. Becker, age 68, of Lake City passed away Thursday, September 17, 2009 at his residence.
Gerald James Becker was born December 17, 1940 in Faribault to Henry and Agnes (nee Meyer) Becker. His family moved to Waterloo, IA where he attended schools. He worked for Rath Packing and later worked at John Deere where he worked as a machinist. Gerald married Barbara Ash on July 25, 1963 in Waterloo, IA. On May 31, 1995 after 29 years of work at John Deere Gerald retired. The couple moved to Lake City, MN. Gerald enjoyed hunting, fishing, bird watching and watching old western movies.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Lake City; daughter, Pamela (Kris) Jacque of Denver, IA; son, Rusty Becker of Lake City, MN; seven grandchildren, Ryan (Ellen), Toni, and Alex Jacque, Chelsea, Kaylee, Cole, and Rachael Becker; one great-granddaughter Kaydence Jacque; sisters, Goldie (Clyde) Johnson of Waterloo, Henrietta Becker of Waterloo, Cleone (Jesse) Sternberg of Cedar Rapids IA; brothers, Hubert (Sharol) Becker of Fort Dodge and Wilfred (Jeannette) Becker of Waterloo. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruby Schock; brothers, Edwin, Leonard, Henry, and Arnold Becker.
Visitation will be 2p.m. to 4p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City. Additional services will be held in Waterloo, IA.
