George Norman Rostad died peacefully Wednesday, November 6, 2024. George was a cherished father, grandfather, farmer and friend.
George Norman was born in Rochester, Minnesota on March 28, 1939, to George and Norma (Hjermstad) Rostad. He lived and farmed his entire life in Hader, MN. He attended grade school at Hader Country School and graduated from Wanamingo High School in 1957.
After high school, he started farming with his parents, and later married his beautiful wife of 63 years Alice Fjelstul, in March of 1959.
George and Alice had three sons, Steven, Joel and David. All three sons were raised with farming in their hearts and continue to live and farm around the Hader area.
Grandpa George was one of his favorite titles. He and Alice were blessed with six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren with one more on the way.
George was an active member of many agricultural groups. He loved to sing, spend time with family, fish, farm and travel. Playing cards with friends and morning coffee were definitely some of his favorite pastimes. He loved to listen to polka and old-time country on his car or tractor radio. George will be deeply missed.
