George Lee Johnson

George Lee Johnson went to his heavenly home on December 21st, 2018. He died at his home in Pearland, Texas after a courageous battle with Melanoma. George was born July 19, 1935, in Red Wing, Minnesota to Stanley and Mable Johnson of Goodhue. He graduated from Goodhue High School in 1953 and served in the U. S. Army for two years. On May 10, 1958, he married Gladys Holst in Goodhue, Minnesota. They lived in the Minneapolis area and two children, Carrie and Brent, were born into this marriage. In 1970, the family moved to New Richmond, Wisconsin. George and Gladys later moved to Green Valley, AZ in 1988. George worked at several companies during his career in purchasing. After retirement in 2002, to be closer to Carrie, he and Gladys moved to Naples, FL and in 2009 to Athens, Georgia and in 2014 moved to Pearland, TX.



George is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gladys, of Pearland, TX, daughter, Carrie (Michael) Capps of Pearland, TX and son, Brent (Jamie) Johnson, grandsons Tanner and Parker of Pittsburgh, PA. Also, sister Julie (Darrel) Jaeger of Stewartville, MN and several nieces and nephews. His parents preceded him in death.



A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 13th at 11:00 am at Mahn Funeral Home Chapel in Lake City, MN. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Lake City, MN.
