Gary Alan Ottman

Gary Alan Ottman, 78, of Red Wing died unexpectedly on Monday, September 25, 2017, in Red Wing. He was born on November 10, 1938, in Red Wing to Glen and Helen (DeJager) Ottman. He attended schools in Red Wing and graduated in 1956. He went on to serve in the United States Navy. Gary married Beatrice Vieths in 1963. He worked for the City of Red Wing for 30 years until his retirement. Gary served 20 years as a member of the Red Wing Volunteer Fire Department, and was also a member of the Leo C. Peterson #54 American Legion Post, the Red Wing Wildlife League, Izaak Walton Conservation Organization, and several car clubs. He was a Studebaker fan and enjoyed collecting agates, being outdoors and traveling.

Gary is survived by his wife of 54 years, Beatrice of Red Wing; one son, Steve (Lisa) Ottman of Red Wing; one brother, Charles Ottman and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sons, Dale and Alan.
