Gary Lyman Oberg

Gary Lyman Oberg, 58, of Hager City died on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. He was born on August 10, 1956 in Red Wing to Lyman and Virginia (Budenski) Oberg. He grew up in Hager City and attended schools in Ellsworth. For over forty years he drove truck, driving for Red Wing Pottery and Hager City Express along with others. In the 1980's he purchased his own truck. He enjoyed the Packers, hunting, fishing and being with family and friends. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend. Gary was a voice of reason and could always be counted on.

Survivors include his mother, Ginny Oberg of Hager City; one brother, Jay (Judy) Oberg of Hager City; one sister, Cindy (Jim) Ogden of Ellsworth; two nieces, Nicole (Adam) Peters of Ellsworth and Jolenne (Lenny) Jamison of River Falls; three nephws, Jay Jay (Robin Robinson) Oberg of Plum City, Christopher (Dani Hanson) Ogden of Maiden Rock and Josh (Hailey Matthews) Oberg of Hager City; several great nieces and nephews, along with many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Lyman "Jigg's"; one brother, David Oberg and one nephew, Jessie Ogden.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2015 at Svea Lutheran Church with Rev. Dean Lundgren officiating. Burial will be in the Trenton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 19, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and at the church for one hour prior to the service.
