Fritz E. Dose, 85, of Rochester, died Friday, November 30, 2007 at his home of an apparent heart attack. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at Rochester Covenant Church with Reverend Gary Downing officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Prairie Cemetery in Rochester. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post # 588 of Mazeppa. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM, Monday December 3, 2007 at Mahn Family Funeral Home-Rochester Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Fritz Emery Dose was born September 24, 1922, on the family farm near Oak Center, Minnesota. He enlisted in the Navy in 1944 and served in World War II. He married Marilyn Anne Gray on November 15, 1958. The couple farmed near Mazeppa, and Fritz also worked for the Wabasha County Highway Department. They moved to Rochester in 1989.

Fritz was a member of Rochester Covenant Church, the American Legion and the VFW. He enjoyed gardening, playing cribbage, cooking, listening to books on tape and playing with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Ann and Carol both of Rochester; two sons, Dennis (Trudie) of South Haven, Michigan, and Scott (Deb Faucett) of Maple Grove, Minnesota; two grandchildren, Megan and Trevor both of South Haven, Michigan; two sisters, Jean Turner of Rochester and Janet (Armond) Yotter of Lake City; and two brothers, Leonard (Marlene) of Longmont, Colorado and Charles (Joyce) of Pine Island. He was preceded in death by an unborn child, one sister, Marjorie and six brothers, Dwain, Henry, George, Jim, Jess and Lee.

Arrangements are with Mahn Family Funeral Home-Rochester Chapel.
