Fred Wimmer

Fred E. Wimmer age 58 of Lake City died Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at St. Mary?s Hospital in Rochester. Fred was born April 25, 1948 in Lake City to Edward & Hazel (Cordes) Wimmer. Fred grew up in Florence Township in Wabasha County. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Lake City, in 1966. Fred worked construction in the Lake City area. He also joined the Army National Guard stationed out of Red Wing. He married Bonnie Wehrs September 26, 1970 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin. They lived in Lake City until moving to Florence Township in 1974. Fred worked at Fleishman?s Malting in Red Wing, and he was currently working at Horizon Milling in Lake City. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of West Florence. Fred was also an avid Packer Fan. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Teresa Wimmer of Burnsville, MN; one son, Troy (Lisa) of Lake City; two brothers, John & Lee of Lake City. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, December 22, at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church of West Florence with the Rev. Christopher Hoppe officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 8 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. Friends may also call one hour before the service at the church.
