Francis John Vollmers, 93, of Texas and formerly of Red Wing, passed away Monday, Oct. 3, 2011. He was born Dec. 7, 1918 in Martell, Wisconsin to Maynard and Lydia (Daden) Vollmers. He graduated from Red Wing Central High School and worked as an accountant for Standard Oil Company.
He is survived by one nephew Gary Olson and his wife Cindy; grand niece, Shannon Belanger and her husband Scott and their daughters, Sarah Grace and Skylar Nicole . He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Etta Mae Olson and a brother-in-law, Edward John Olson.
Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011 at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Red Wing, with Reverend Eugene Hasselquist officiating. Funeral arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
