Francis Reuter

Francis Peter Reuter, 87, of Red Wing, died Friday, Dec. 11 at the Fairview Red Wing Medical Center. He was born on May 12, 1922 in Cannon Falls to Peter and Veronica (Stoffel) Reuter. He attended school in Cannon Falls and on April 12, 1944 he was married to Shirley Boldt at St. Pius V Catholic Church in Cannon Falls. He worked for Vince Lawrence Construction and Myron Alms Construction for many years as a carpenter. He also had a hobby farm and enjoyed building wooden chests, which he sold around the world. He was a member of St. Pius V Catholic Church in Cannon Falls, Leo C. Peterson American Legion Post #54 and the Knights of Columbus serving over 50 years and being the longest member of the Red Wing Knights of Columbus Council.

Survivors include his wife Shirley; six children, Don (Teddy) Reuter of Bloomington, Judy Reuter of Dallas, Tex., Bruce (Debbie) Reuter of Red Wing, Barb (Bruce) Johnson of Burnsville, Dan (Mary) Reuter of Hastings and David (Denise) Reuter of Red Wing; 12 grandchildren, Debbie (Jeff) Walker, Ryan (Heidi) Reuter, Chad (Lindsay) Reuter, Nicole (Eric) Lane, Brent Johnson, Justin (Candi) Miska, Jake Miska, Lori (Christ) Van Winkle, Justin (Katie) Dahl, Charrise (Kyle) Wittenberg, Jerett and Jenna Reuter; 17 great grandchildren; one brother, Stephen (LaVina) Reuter of South St.Paul; three sisters, Lola Dodge of Red Wing, LuGarda McDonald of St. Paul and Gloria Still of North Branch and two sister-in-laws, Gen Reuter of South St. Paul and Marlys Johnson of Mankato along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Leonard Reuter, four brother-in-laws, Mike Dodge, Dave McDonald, Glen Still and Sheldon Johnson and mother-in-law, Edna Boldt.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17 with a 7:30 p.m. Knights of Columbus rosary followed by a prayer service at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec 18 at St. Pius V Catholic Church in Cannon Falls with Father Jay Kythe officiating with visitation one hour prior to the Mass at church. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Calvary Cemetery in Red Wing. Pallbearers will be Ryan, Chad and Jerett Reuter, Brent Johnson, Justin Dahl, Jeff Walker and Justin and Jake Miska. Memorials are preferred to the Red Wing Area Food Shelf.
