Frances Adeline Callstrom

Frances Adeline Callstrom, 94, of White Rock, died Saturday, December 17, 2016 at St. Crispin Living Community, Seminary Home in Red Wing. She was born on December 14, 1922, to Jennings and Esther (Larson) Miller. She attended rural schools and graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Agriculture, St. Paul Campus in 1944. On May 26, 1945, she was united in marriage to Walter Callstrom at Spring Garden Lutheran Church. They farmed for many years in Belle Creek and Vasa Townships. Walter died on May 10, 1984. She continued to live on the farm and for several years she worked at Piccadilly Boutique in Cannon Falls. In 2011, she moved to Twin Rivers Senior Campus in Cannon Falls and for the past two years has resided at St. Crispin Living Community, Seminary Home. She was a lifelong and active member of Spring Garden Lutheran Church. She enjoyed feeding the birds, flower and vegetable gardening, taking care of sheep and chickens on the farm and traveling. Her family recalls her love to celebrate birthdays, cooking and baking, especially her rosettes, playing Yahtzee and doing crosswords puzzles. She was also interested in the Miller and Callstrom family histories.

Survivors include three daughters, Gayle (Rick) Garrity of Winona, Donna Holst of Goodhue and Marlys (David) Tritten of Eyota; seven grandchildren, Chad (Karen) Collins, Chris (Mary) Collins, Jamie (Barbie) Collins and Rich Collins, Tyler (Rebecca) Tritten, Travis (Kristie) Tritten and Katie (Paul) van Eijl; eight great grandchildren, Courtney, Shane, John and Marisa Collins, Brady Ferguson, Hailey and Caleb van Eijl and Ava Tritten; seven siblings, Mary Urevig, John Miller, Grace Nelson all of Cannon Falls, Irene (Joyce) Berg of Oronoco, Lois (Meryl) Watson of Lake City, Elaine Myers of Scotts Valley, Calif., and Shirley (Allen) Berg of Hastings; many nieces and nephews and two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Berg of Cannon Falls and IIene Callstrom of Kansas City, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother, William Miller.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Spring Garden Lutheran Church with Reverend Nick and Cindy Fisher Broin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, December 20 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
