Frances C. Burton

STEWARTVILLE ? A memorial service for Frances C. Burton will be 3 p.m. Monday (Aug. 21, 2006) at Mahn Family Funeral Home ? Rochester Chapel. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Mrs. Burton, 96, a homemaker, of Stewartville, died Friday (Aug. 18, 2006) at the Stewartville Care Center where she had resided for the last month. Frances Carolyn Hladky was born Dec. 15, 1909 in Topeka, Kansas. She moved to Kentucky as a child. She married Olis Lafon Burton on Aug. 8, 1925; he died Aug. 23, 1977. They moved to Minnesota in 1936 where they farmed around Spring Valley and Pine Island for twelve years. She lived in Rochester for 14 years, Faribault for twenty two years, before returning to Rochester. She moved to Stewartville in 2002. She enjoyed traveling, reading, sewing, and flowers. Survivors include three sons Donald (Shirley) of Port Charlotte, FL; David (Carole) of Mantorville, MN; and Stephen (Charlene) of Walker, MN; two daughters Mary (Clarence) Henderson; and Bette (Robert) Carson both of Rochester; one sister Thelma Canter of Ameila, OH; 30 grandchildren; 67 great grandchildren; and 45 great great grandchildren. Her husband, one son, two daughters, one sister, one brother, three grandchildren, and one great grandson preceded her in death.
