Florence Amelia Reincke, age 101, of Lake City passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Lake City Nursing Home. She was born on October 26, 1909 in rural Belvidere Township in Goodhue County to Charles and Mary (Zanders) Thomforde. Florence attended country school in Belvidere Township. She married August Reincke in September 14, 1929 in Belvidere. They farmed in Oak Center until moving to Zumbrota. August passed away in 1958. In 1959 she moved to Lake City where she worked various jobs. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and dancing.
She is survived by her son, Augie Jr. (Donna) of Idaho; three daughters, Marlene (Lloyd) Roschen, Marilyn Roschen, Judy Glander all of Lake City; son, Michael (Irma) Reincke of Elgin; 20 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, August; two brothers, Alfred and Arthur Thomforde; four sisters, Emma Augustine, Alvina Schafer, Clara Brunkhorst, and Laura Meyer.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Bethany Lutheran Church with Reverend Scott Fiege officiating. Burial will take place at Grace Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Goodhue. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Church. Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel is handling the arrangements.
