Flora Loretta Plotnik, age 91, of Red Wing, died Monday, December 8, 2008, at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park. She was born on February 28, 1917, in Buffalo, Minnesota, to James and Veronica (Zaller) Bannochie. She was a graduate of Buffalo High School where she lettered in basketball. She was married to Paul Plotnik for more than 55 years. They lived in Delano and south Minneapolis prior to retiring to a lake near Motley. He died on July 15, 1993, and she moved to Red Wing in January, 2008. She enjoyed fishing and cooking.
Survivors include five children Jean Northern of Texas, Paul (Lori) Plotnik of Stillwater, John (Regina) Plotnik of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Robin (Joseph) Rooney of Red Wing and Jeff (Debbie) Plotnik of Virginia; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; dear friend Hal Kuehn; three brothers Norvel Bannochie of Minneapolis, Eugene Bannochie of Bloomington and Douglas (Elaine) Bannochie of Arizona; two sisters Vonnie Ramaker of Eagan and Joanne McCollum of Eagan. Preceding her in death were six sisters Tina, Dorothy, Lucille, Frances, Jeanette and Helen.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Chaplain Dar Reeck officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Delano. Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of services Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to St. Brigid's at Hi-Park.
