Felicia Jeanne Langer, 86, of Red Wing, MN died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. She was born Jan. 2, 1925 in Centuria, Wisconsin to Charles and Margaret (LaMere) Turner. She graduated from Milltown High School and attended college at River Falls, Wisconsin. After receiving her teaching certificate, she began her teaching career at the age of 18 when she taught at the Spring Grove one room rural school house, grades 1-8, located in Pierce County, Wisconsin. On May 29, 1945, she married Bernard Langer and lived on the Langer family farm in Diamond Bluff. Felicia served as the first Pierce County Homemaker, and began teaching in the Title One specialized reading program at Prairie View Elementary School. In 1971, she finalized her education in teaching and received a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. She taught first grade at Prairie View Elementary School until retiring. After retiring, she and Bernard were able to travel through the states, visiting with family and friends. She was a parishioner of the church of St. Joseph.

She is survived by her husband, Bernard of Red Wing, MN; ten children: Sherrianne (Kenneth) Langer of Prescott, WI, Margaret Mary (Joe) Lazzari of Seal Beach, CA., Dennis B. (Sue) Langer of Ellsworth, WI, Charlene (Jim) Larson of Hager City, WI, Dale (Anne Maassen) Langer of Eau Claire, WI, Charles (Stephanie) Langer of Red Wing, MN, Michael (Patricia) Langer of Centuria, WI, Daniel (JoAnna) Langer of Dallas, WI, Douglas (Shannon) Langer of Helenville, WI & Lisa (Howard) Blank of Clayton, NY; grandchildren: Kenneth Langer & Cassandra (Paul) Johnson; Sarah, Elizabeth & Damien Lazzari, Ruth (Randy) Peace; Christa (Laun) Chau; Becky (Mike Eidelbes) Larson & Dennis (Sarah) Larson; Erin Langer; Jacob & Jared Langer; Cassandra, Adam & Mariah Langer; Ashley (Chris) Winkleman, Jessica, Ryan & Dane Langer; Garret, Tanner & Gunnar Blank; great-grandchildren: Bailey Langer; Tessa & Makayla Johnson; Isaiah Turner Chau; Ella Grace & TJ (Thomas James) Larson; Sydney Jeanne Eidelbes; Ethan Winkleman; 3 step-great-grandchildren: Alex, Cole & Avery Winkleman & 2 siblings, Margaret Mary Maier of Balsam Lake, WI & Charles (Marion) Turner of Centuria, WI & many nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Eileen and an infant daughter, Kim.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011 at St. Mary's-Big River, River Falls, with Father William Matzek presiding. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to either St. Mary's-Big River or the Church of St. Joseph, Red Wing.
