Faye Skorude

Faye Isabelle Skorude, 95, of Red Wing, died Sunday, April 27, 2008 at the Southview Acres Care Center in West St. Paul. She was born April 5, 1913 in Maiden Rock, Wisconsin to Clayton and Lulu (Marsh) Stockwell. She graduated from Ellsworth High School. On August 24, 1933 she married Carl Skorude. For 25 years she worked at Red Wing Shoe Company, retiring in June of 1975. Carl died Oct. 1, 1981. She was a member of United Lutheran Church and was active in its ladies group and quilting group. She enjoyed sewing and was a great cook.

She is survived by two children, Stephanie (Gerald) Friedrich of South St. Paul and Michael Skorude of Lolo, Mont.; four grandchildren, Pamela Christ, Paula Friemann, Scott Friedrich and Michael Skorude ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Floyd Stockwell of Texas and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Gordon and Edward Stockwell and three sisters, Georgianna Terwillger, Verna Young and Blanche Bengtson.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at United Lutheran Church with Reverend Steve Timm officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
