Faye Loessin, age 87, of Rochester, died Friday April 5, 2019 at Whitewater Health Care Center in St. Charles, MN.
She was born Faye Ola Broome on Feb. 13, 1932 to J. Bartow Broome and Faye (Petite) Broome of Fort Worth, TX.
Faye graduated High School from Carter Riverside High School in 1949.
She attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth and Christopher Newport College in Newport News, VA.
She married Wilburn Loessin, Sr. of LaGrange, TX in May of 1953.
Her husband was an ordained Minister of the Presbyterian Church.
The couple lived in several states where Rev. Loessin served various churches. They lived in Hampton, VA before moving to Rochester in 1982.
Rev. Loessin served at the First Presbyterian Church in Rochester.
Faye was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she was active in teaching Sunday School, First Presbyterian Women's Club, and all adult social groups. Faye enjoyed traveling, volunteering at Chanel One, and entertaining friends.
In 1996 Rev. Loessin retired and the couple lived in Luverne and Wilmar, MN, before returning to Rochester. Bill died Nov. 12, 1999
Her son, W. "Lee" Loessin, Jr., his wife Theresa and her grandson Andrew Loessin, all of Rochester survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Gretchen Anna, and her sister Bartie Jean Duncan.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday at Mahn Family Funeral Home - Rochester Chapel.
Inurnment of Faye's cremated remains will be in the First Presbyterian Church Columbarium.
Memorials are suggested to Chanel One, Hope Lodge, or Breast Cancer Research.
