Everly Patrice Schmit, beloved little girl of Christopher and Emily (O'Reilly) Schmit, died peacefully at her home at 18 days old. She was born on August 15, 2014 weighing 7 lbs, 13oz. Everly was diagnosed with Trisomy 13, a chromosomal disorder dealing with the nervous system. She spent a week at Children's Hospital before she was put on hospice where she was able to spend her last days with her family. Though her time was brief, she was lovingly adored by her siblings, tenderly cuddled by her grandparents and received more hugs and kisses from mom and dad than any one infant could in 18 days.
Everly will be dearly missed by her parents, Chris and Emily of Goodhue; 4 siblings, Alana, Skyler, Brayden and Ashtyn, all at home; grandparents, Patrice O'Reilly of Goodhue, Rich and Robin Eddy of Peyton, CO ; great grandmother Mary Ann Eddy; aunts and uncles, Jennifer and Dave McDonald, Selene O'Reilly, Matt O'Reilly and Jeannine Nagel, Quinn and Sara O'Reilly, Nick and Erica Huneke, Lindsey Schmit, Joshua and Erin Adkins, and Ryan and Kerri Wenke and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Charles O'Reilly; grandmother Rebecca Schmit; uncle Jeremy Schmit; great grandparents Joe and Mary O'Reilly, Engelbert and Cecelia Edstrom, and Donald and Gloria Schmit.
A memorial birthday party celebrating Everly's birth and life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Chris and Emily's home at 410 Crestview Court, Goodhue, MN 55027.
