Evelyn Mary Schwab

August 14, 1922 — February 8, 2013

Evelyn Mary Schwab, 90, of Red Wing, died Friday, February 8, 2013 at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park in Red Wing. Evelyn was born August 14, 1922 in Lake City, the daughter of Lawerence and Helena (Klenert) Redding. She grew up on her dad's farm and graduated from Lake City High School. On April 23, 1946, she married Jack Schwab at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bellechester. She was employed at the LaGrange Shoe Company and then as a waitress at Mary's Supper Club and the Redmen Club until her retirement. She was a member of the Church of St. Joseph, VFW Auxiliary, and was a Pocahontas at the Redmen Club. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, sewing, bingo, and spending time with her family.

Evelyn is survived by her children; Gary Schwab of Red Wing, Linda Von Bargen of Vasa, and David Schwab of Red Wing; daughter-in-law Jo Ann Schwab; grandchildren Tammy (Randy) Otto, Teresa (Luke) Wisneiwski, Tony (Becky) Von Bargen, Jack (Jennifer) Schwab, and Joe (Kelly) Schwab; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jack, parents, and son Mark Schwab.

Mass of Resurrection will be 11 a.m., Monday, February 11, 2013 at the Church of St. Joseph in Red Wing with Father Thomas M. Kommers presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Red Wing. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Arrangements are by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
