Evelyn Nreen Lunde

Funeral services for Evelyn Lunde will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Pine Island with the Reverend Deanna Woodward officiating. Burial will follow at the Lands Lutheran Church Cemetery in Zumbrota. Mrs. Lunde, 78, of Pine Island, died Saturday July 25, 2009 at Pine Have Care Center in Pine Island.

Evelyn Nreen Archer was born to Oscar and Letta Archer on April 15, 1931 in Milton Township, Dodge County. She was raised in rural Pine Island. On December 9, 1972 she married Monrad Lunde in Pine Island. Mrs. Lunde worked at Telex Communications for 32 years in Rochester. She also worked for the Rainbow Café and, prior to her retirement, was a school bus driver for the Pine Island School District.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Pine Island, American Legion Auxiliary Post 184 of Pine Island, and the VFW Auxiliary of Zumbrota.

She is survived by a son, Caryl Archer of Pine Island; daughter, Patricia (Dean) Lee of Owatonna; 2 granddaughters, Holly Lee of Crystal, and Wendy (Brian) Carpenter of Winchester, Kentucky; a great-grandson, Kenzie [Lee] Singletary of Crystal; step-sons, Russell (Deb) Lunde of Zumbrota, and Michael (Nadeen) Lunde of Pine Island; step-daughters, Beverly Pike of Fountain Hills, Arizona, and Barbara (Tom) Sitsch, residing in Rhode Island; 7 step-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Darlene (Bob) Wegman of Pine Island, Virginia (Jim) Zwart of Zumbro Falls, and Elvira Wilson of Tucson, Arizona; 3 brothers, John (Delores) Archer of Pine Island, Howard (Bonnie) Archer of Kellogg, and Paul Archer and his dear friend, Helen, of Zumbrota; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1987; parents; a brother, Haven Archer; and a sister, Lillian Derby.

Friends may call Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Mahler Chapel in Pine Island. The visitation will continue 1 hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
