Evelyn H. Kirtz

Evelyn H. Kirtz, age 90 of Goodhue died on Sunday January 24, 2011 at the Lake City Medical Center.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 AM on Wednesday January 26, 2011 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Goodhue, with the Reverend Randall Kuznicki officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held at a later date.
Evelyn Hattie Ohlhaber was born on November 18, 1920 in Wabasha County to Carsten and Ida (Wohlers) Ohlhaber. On October 8, 1940 she married Joseph Kirtz in Lake City. Together the couple farmed on her family's farm. They later moved to their own farm in Goodhue County. Joseph preceded Evelyn in death after 30 years of marriage on January 14, 1971.
Evelyn enjoyed baking, quilting, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a long time member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Goodhue, where she was active in the Ladies Aid.
Evelyn is survived by her son, Dennis (Barb) Kirtz of Goodhue; her five grandchildren, Jody (Brian) Gordan of Goodhue, Michelle Kirtz (Jason Vangstad) of Osakis, Kellie (Leon) Westphal of Arlington, Matthew (Lori) Kirtz of Stewartville, and Katie Kirtz of Goodhue; five great grandchildren, Lucas Kirtz, Grant and Justin Westphal, and Austin and Harlie Kirtz. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph; son, Donald; sister, Gladys Tomfohrde; and her brother, Orlin Ohlhaber.
