Evelyn Hayes

Evelyn Mae Hayes, 72, of Red Wing, died Saturday, January 23, 2010 at her daughter's home of Hager City. She was born January 18, 1938 in Red Wing to James and Florence (Quade) Holden. She attended school in Red Wing. On February 27, 1954 she married Donald Hayes in Ellsworth. They lived in White Rock for a short time and then later in Ellsworth where she was a homemaker. Donald died June 8, 2004. She enjoyed animals, especially dogs and cats.

She is survived by three children, Richard (Kim) Hayes of Ellsworth, Shirley (Bill) Steinmetz of Broken Arrow, OK, Jeanette Jablonske of Hager City; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; siblings, Lavonne (Paul) Jennings of White Rock, Betty Holden of Red Wing, Pat (Bob) Albrecht, Helen (Dennis) Johnson both of Lake City, James Holden, Glenn Holden, Dennis (Linda) Holden all of Red Wing and step brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald; two sons, Donald Jr. and Michael; one daughter Marlys Hayes; one sister, Irene Albrecht; one brother, Sam Holden.

Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday January 27, 2010 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Rod Wicklund officiating. Spring burial will be in the Diamond Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2010 and one hour prior to the service all at the funeral home.
