ROCHESTER A graveside service for Evelyn Fenton will be held at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery in Florence, Pa. at a later date.
Mrs. Fenton, 99, of Rochester, Minn., died Saturday (Nov. 20, 2010) at Seasons Hospice in Rochester.
Evelyn Belle Reese Fenton was born Jan. 13, 1911, in Burgettstown, Washington County, Pa., to Lloyd David and Anna Laura Murphy Reese. She attended Burgettstown Union High School and then Boyd's Business College in Pittsburgh, and worked as a secretary until after her marriage to Randall Nash Fenton in 1936. She is fond of saying that she could have "danced the night away" when she was younger. Evelyn is a past Worthy Matron and lifetime member of The order of the Eastern Star Apalla Chapter in Tulsa, Okla. She was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Tulsa. Evelyn has lived in Minnesota since 1968 and moved to Northgate Plaza in Rochester from Faribault, Minn. in 2002.
Evelyn has three daughters, Joann Fenton of Green Valley, Ariz., Nancy Fenton of Fountain Hills, Ariz., and Kay Schumacher of Rochester; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and cousin Hugh Pollon of Fairfax, VA. Her brother James Carl Reese preceded her in death.
