Evelyn Marie Baker, 83, of Red Wing, died Sunday, April 24, 2016 at St. Crispin Living Community-Seminary Home. She was born December 30, 1932 in Red Wing to Henry and Doris (Carpenter) Miller. She attended schools in Red Wing and worked for a few years at the Red Wing Shoe Company. On February 9, 1952 she married Calvin Baker and they lived in the Pierce County area for many years. She worked as a nurse's aide in River Falls, did home health care, worked at Ben Franklin and A & W in Red Wing and Hager Heights Drive Inn. In 2008, she and Calvin moved to Red Wing. She was a member of the Laurel Presbyterian Church where she lead bible study and was a Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and doing various other crafts as well as decorating cakes and cookies. She also enjoyed playing cards and dice.
Survivors include her husband, Calvin; six children, Joan (Randy) Anderson of Hager City, Rodney (Debbie) Baker of Bay City, Debbie Simonson (Stanley Kukuska) of Maiden Rock, Roger Baker of Zumbrota, Rick (Marialuisa) Baker of Red Wing, and Randy (Pat) Baker of Hudson; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Janelle Enberg of Ellsworth; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother Roy Miller; and one sister, Viola Danielson.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Laurel Presbyterian Church in Hager City with Rev. Amy Kosari officiating. Burial will be at the Hartland Presbyterian Cemetery.
